Know who’s driving with MiX DriveMate’s one-touch driver ID
We’ve established by now that driver behaviour is intrinsically linked to a fleet’s performance – from both an efficiency and safety point of view. It goes without saying, then, that improving driver behaviour is vitally important to the successful and profitable running of a fleet.
MiX Telematics has worked with hundreds of customers – and continues to do so –and it’s through experiences with them that we’ve seen how well driver coaching initiatives work to achieve results.
Using driver identification has become an important part of benchmarking and improving driver behaviour. Because only when a fleet manager is aware of who’s behind the wheel, they are able to formulate personalised training plans and start the process of driver behaviour transformation.
Of course, there are many different forms of driver identification available out there. But few telematics companies possess the technology or expertise to integrate their solutions with a company’s own ID cards, which are commonly used throughout organisations to allow employees to access company sites.
Because MiX DriveMate comes as part of a MiX Telematics solution, it offers an extremely convenient way to identify drivers without them having to carry an additional ID card or key.
Once the solution is in place and configured correctly, a driver simply places his existing company ID card on the MiX DriveMate device. (If a company does not use ID cards, MiX Telematics can supply cards, too.) The device automatically identifies the driver and logs his credentials to correspond with the imminent journey.
The result of this seamless method of identification is that a fleet manager will be able to tailor a driver behaviour programme to each individual driver, and benchmark their progress from the get-go.
It’s that easy.
