MiX Vehicle Conversion Specialists fulfils major order for utilities operator 12 months ahead of schedule

Originally planned as a four-year programme, MiX Vehicle Conversion Specialists is now set to complete delivery a full 12 months ahead of schedule. In turn, this result is providing major financial benefits to Northern Gas Network.
"Being able to bring forward the completion date has resulted in significant savings for Northern Gas Networks in the order of many hundreds of thousands of pounds," comments Gary Banister, Head of Transport for United Utilities. "This is because the new generation of vehicles we have specified are far more efficient in operation than their predecessors, allowing us to achieve an overall fleet strength reduction in excess of 11 percent.
"The performance of MiX Vehicle Conversion Specialists has therefore contributed greatly to the success of our contract with Northern Gas Networks and we are naturally delighted with the result.

The vehicle fleet provided for Northern Gas Network comprises four model types; Vauxhall Combo, Vivaro and Movano and Ford Transit. For each, MiX Vehicle Conversion Specialists has developed a core specification which can be enhanced through the addition of a range of optional extras.
Standard equipment fitted to the vehicles includes the diesel-powered TEC 30 onboard mains power system and the TrakBak stolen vehicle recovery product , both of which are also supplied by parent organisation MiX Telematics.
Other equipment includes bespoke racking systems, computer docking stations and fully-integrated hand-wash stations. As a true one-stop supplier, MiX Vehicle Conversions Specialists also fits all external equipment, such as ladder racks and amber Xenon beacons, and applies Northern Gas Network's high-visibility livery.
