Major UK operational savings lead to MiX Telematics entering bus & coach markets

As a result, the company's systems can today also be found in service with PCV operators in Europe, Asia, South America and Australia.
"With a number of major British PCV operators including Go-Ahead, Transdev and Konectbus now using our solutions, it is true to say that the UK has very much paved the way for the implementation of our systems within the bus and coach world," comments MiX Telematics' UK Marketing & Operations Director, Steve Coffin.
"We sealed our first PCV contract in the UK a year ago and since then our business has developed to the point whereby we have saved the industry a total of approximately £5 million in fuel. With savings of this order, and the high levels of customer satisfaction that naturally accompany it, word has quickly spread around the world and is now generating interest among operators literally from Sydenham to Sydney!"
In a separate move which is set to further increase the company's penetration internationally, MiX Telematics has recently been confirmed as an approved supplier to bus and coach manufacturer Scania. The approval agreement covers MiX Telematics' flagship FM Communicator product, which has been designed to lead fleet managers towards a wide range of operational and efficiency benefits by way of the capture and analysis of vehicle- and driver-related performance data.
"We are delighted to have been confirmed as an approved supplier to Scania as it demonstrates their confidence in us to be able to deliver and support our products worldwide," adds Steve Coffin.
In total, the MiX Telematics installation-base currently exceeds 500,000 systems in service globally.
