Based in Hemel Hempstead with a further two distribution centres in Basingstoke and Heywood, Lancashire, Keystone Distribution UK Limited provides a dedicated supply chain service for its principal customer, McDonald's.
"In terms of duty of care, we were looking to use Fleet Manager to help us by monitoring and managing our drivers and vehicles out on the road," says Keystone Distribution UK's Assistant Transport Manager, Keith Coomber.
"Today, we use that information to determine our training requirements and regularly report on improvements via monthly 'league tables' posted the company's notice boards. We also use the data as part of our driver incentive schemes, which sees excellent performance rewarded. Having the overall buy-in of our drivers, plus the competitive element of the league tables, has resulted in the system having a great motivational effect for us.
"It has also contributed to a 50 percent reduction in accidents, which from a duty of care perspective represents an excellent result."
