With more than a century’s worth of service to the Nottingham community under its belt, Nottingham City Transport has remained successful due to its commitment to ongoing improvement and willingness to evolve with the times.
MiX Telematics was employed by Nottingham City Transport to assist their continued growth. MiX Fleet Manager, RIBAS, MyMiX and a ticket machine integration was slowly implemented across three depots. To ensure transparency, drivers were involved in the process by training them on how each solution works and why it’s necessary. Large amounts of vehicle and driver data can now be collected and drivers are given real-time feedback on their behaviour (such as speeding). Scores are assigned based on predetermined criteria and drivers are ranked accordingly. Drivers can view these scores on the driver-facing MyMiX app and can monitor their own performance. Those individuals who receive a green rating, are praised and offered incentives while those with an amber or red rating are given appropriate training and guidance on how to improve.
Nottingham City Transport has seen a number of positive results due to implementing MiX Telematics’ solutions. These results include faster data collection, a more efficient and ongoing coaching campaign, increased driver engagement and deeper insight into daily fleet operations.
